They ride around in heavy armoured vehicles (as opposed to light infantry). In the US, they'd be equipped with the Bradley fighting vehicle. In the UK, they'd use the Warrior IFV.
Mechanised Infantry Regiment was created in 1979.
The motto of Mechanised Infantry Regiment is 'Valour & Faith'.
Light infantry isn't mechanised, hence, they travel "light" (in comparison to heavy/mechanised infantry, who travel in armoured vehicles).
The most basic type of infantry is typically the standard infantry or rifleman. They serve as the backbone of an infantry unit and are trained in basic combat skills, such as marksmanship, patrolling, and maneuvering in various terrains. They are equipped with rifles and are responsible for engaging in direct combat with the enemy.
Mechanized infantry allowed soldiers and small artillery pieces to be transported quickly along far distances. One of the reasons the German blitzkrieg was so effective.
The Rifles are a regiment of the British Royal Army. They consist of seven battalions: Commando Infantry in Chepstow, two Light Role battalions in Edinburgh and Bellykinler, the Mechanised Infantry battalion in Bulford, Armoured Infantry in Paderborn, Germany, and two Territorial Army battalions in Exeter and Reading.
In mechanised units, the soldiers who would disembark from a vehicle are known as dismounts. Light Infantry is the term for soldiers intended to operate by foot.
No, US Army Rangers do not typically use the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. They are an elite infantry unit and are primarily focused on conducting special operations missions on foot or utilizing light vehicles. The use of heavy armored vehicles like the Bradley is generally the domain of mechanized infantry units.
First off the Ju-78 or Stukas Did their bombing of important positions of enemy like bunkers trains etc. Then The Panzers or tanks went ahead as killed all the infantry. While The mechanised infantry was watching the panzers back. But the attack didnt stop the panzers and planes went ahead while little bit of panzers and infantry stayed at the sides to protect the trucks that resupplied the troops.

Infantry go through One Station Unit Training, rather than separate Basic and AIT. IIRC, Infantry OSUT is 13 weeks total. That doesn't include time spent at the AG waiting for an OSUT unit to become available (which may be up to three weeks), nor any additiional schools (such as mortars, mechanised infantry, jump school, etc.)
