How do you find the least common factor?

The lowest common factor of any set of whole numbers would be 1. The way to find the least common factor would be to list all the factors of each number, determine which factors are common to all numbers, and then choose the smallest. However, that will be 1.By remembering that the least common factor of any set of integers is 1.All you have to do is memorize this: The least common factor of any set of nonzero positive integers is 1.

When you divide by zero the answer is always zero?

You cannot divide by zero.Zero is special in that it does not have a multiplicative inverse. There is a reason why you did not have to memorize division by 0 tables in the third grade. That is because you do not divide by zero.In analysis (advanced calculus), you may discuss the fact that the limit of 1/x as x approaches 0 is infinity, but this has nothing to do with ordinary arithmetic operations. The best example I can give is 0/0.Here are some examplesA baseball player has never batted and he has no hits. What is his batting average?A basketball player has not taken any shots and he has not made any baskets,What is her field-goal percentage ?A student has no money so he invests nothing in a saving account. His annual interest in $0.00. What was the annual percentage interest rate for the account ?These examples all show why 0/0 is undefined and is surely not equal to 0 or 1 as a person might guess it could be. No.Division tells you how many times you can subtract a number before the result is zero, but if you subtract again, the result will not be zero; for example 12 ÷ 4 = 3 tells you that you can subtract 4 from 12 three times and you'll get zero:12 - 4 = 88 - 4 = 44 - 4 = 00 - 4 = -4The fourth subtraction taking the result away from zero.No matter how many times you subtract zero from a non-zero number, it will remain as that number and you will never get to zero.Except You can subtract zero from zero and the result is zero always zero, but how many times can it be done? once, twice, three times, etc. zero divided by zero is any number you want!

How do you write a fraction in lowest term?

Let's examine the fraction 16/24. To reduce this fraction, we need to find a number that divides evenly into both the numerator and denominator. Ideally we want this number to be as large as possible. We call such a number the greatest common factor (GCF). A factor is a number that divides evenly into another number.2Note that there are many methods to finding the GCF of two numbers. Many involve all sorts of "tricks" that truly aren't practical in most contexts. Additionally, it is rare that you will have to reduce an obscure fraction unless it is specifically for practice doing so.3To find the GCF of two numbers, make a list of the factors of each number. Then look for factors that are common to both numbers, and select the largest of those. This is much easier done than said, and with practice you'll be able to do it in your head. In this example, the factors of 16 are 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16. The factors of 24 are 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24. The greatest common factor is 8.4 Reducing a Fraction in One Step by Using the GCFWhat we do is take the GCF, and use it to divide both the numerator and denominator. We always must divide both by the same number, otherwise we've altered the value of the fraction. Note that by dividing numerator and denominator by 8, we've effectively divided the faction by 8/8, which is 1. Dividing by 1 is always allowed because it doesn't change the value of what you are dividing.5After doing the division, we get 2/3. A quick check shows that the GCF of 2 and 3 is 1, but dividing by 1/1 won't help at all. The fraction is fully reduced. There is no common factor larger than 1.6 Reducing a Fraction Over Several StepsSometimes students take a very long time to find the GCF, or they are frustrated if they are having trouble finding it. Understand that it can often be faster to use a common factor which is smaller than the GCF. For example, since both numbers in the original fraction are even, you know that both are divisible by 2. Let's just use that. Dividing top and bottom by 2 we get 8/12. We're not done yet, because 8 and 12 still have a common factor. If you see that is 4, that will save us a step, but you could also divide top and bottom again by 2, giving us 4/6. We're still not done, so once again, repeat the above to reduce to 2/3.7Notice how dividing by the GCF of 8 allows us to do all of the above in just one step, whereas we took three steps doing it in stages. Still, there is nothing wrong with that.8That's really all there is to it. Make sure that you memorize these steps since you will have to perform this task constantly in math, especially when you get to algebra.

What skills do you need to be a medical doctor?

You will need a strong background in science: you will be studying for a medical degree, and the courses will include anatomy, physiology, psychology, and specific courses about the internal workings of the human body. You will need to learn techniques for diagnosing various diseases, and what certain symptoms mean. You will need to know how to do medical research, so that you can keep up with new findings that may be useful to your area of expertise. You will need to project a confident but calming manner, so that you can put a patient at ease (many patients are scared when they see a doctor). You will need to listen carefully to the patient, so that you can understand his or her symptoms: this will be necessary in order to diagnose, or to identify possible reasons why the patient is not feeling well. Sometimes, a good doctor is like a detective-- gathering information, knowing what tests to order, doing research, and figuring out the problem. You will also need to possess manual dexterity, since you may be performing surgery or handling medical equipment or doing a physical exam. Some doctors are specialists, and they must acquire a thorough knowledge of the particular area in which they want to practice: gynecology, oncology, internal medicine, surgery, etc. Above all, a doctor must have a love of the medical field and a dedication to helping patients.
