just like u, i went around asking ppl this question days ago :D
after a bit of a research i figured out that even though OFFICIALLY there is a requirement of 170 cm, (this may vary) this rule is almost never followed. All that the aviation industry checks is that whether u can completely reach all the pedals and the switches with ur legs.........even if u r 4'11 and u r capable of doing that, only then they'll b interested in u as well....
The average height for a pilot is 5'11' tall. Pilots must be tall enough to reach everything that they must, and short enough to fit comfortably.
The heights of pilots very across the world, but the main requirement is that the pilot can see over the cockpit and reach the pedals as well. :)
They have to be 5'4" to 6'5" standing and sitting they have to be 2'10" to 3'4".
