Moderately worn is relative term meanign different things to people.
Coins are graded to their condition including wear and any damage to the coin. Mint State (MS) means the coin was curculated to the public, it came out of the mint and wasn't used basically. And there are several levels of MS where the valus of the coin can be different greatly from a MS62 to a MS63.
For half dollars moderately worn to me would mean an extra fine grading. Where there would be wear evidence on the high features of the design. Worn away, rubbed away...
Such as if your talking about a Kennedy 50 cent peice, wear would be evident on Kennedy's checks and hair. On the reverse side (tails) the eagle's breast feathers, shield and other raised areas of the design would all show wear but you could still see the basic design features.
a half dollar looks like a dollar cut in half
It doesn't look like anything, because there's no such thing. Kennedy wasn't featured on the half dollar until 1964. In 1950, Kennedy was still a Congressman, and Benjamin Franklin was on the half.
There is a website worldcoingallery.com that has pictures.
1914 would have made it a Liberty head (or Barber) style half dollar. Pictures can be found online.
its a big huge coin that is silver. its basically a fifty cent worth .
Eisenhower has never been on the half dollar just dollar coins, look at the coin again and post new question
It looks basically the same as a regular 1950 half, but extra fine detail and a more shiny luster.
Please take another look. That's Benjamin Franklin on the half dollar. Jefferson is on the US nickel.
Look at the back of the coin for "HALF DOLLAR" no US dollar coins were struck after 1935.
Please look at the date and denomination again. The U.S. did not issue any half dollar coins dated 1804.
The heads side looks like all other Kennedy half dollars, but with the dates 1776-1976. The on the back, instead of an eagle, it's Independence Hall.
If you look on the back it's a HALF dollar, not a dollar. Value is about $2.00 for the silver content.
