Why doesn't Ferb talk that much?
While it is true that IS more of an inventor, he doesn't speak because he knows it's Phineas's thing. He knows a lot, but he knows that Phineas is full of charismatic energy that he loves to use. Ferb knows also that he is good with his hands (though when he sings, it's rockin) and so Ferb really would rather not speak unless it's nessecary. I think Phineas and Ferb is based on Phineas and Gene from a Separate Peace, but that's just me.
