How do i wright a letter to my munisipality for permission to do business from my house?
Often, you don't have to ask permission. Your municipality will
have a zoning board. The zoning board classifies the area that you
live into residential, commercial, or industrial. Some places are
zoned both residential/commercial or commercial/industrial. If your
house is zoned residential/commercial you don't need permission.
Most houses are just zoned residential. Then you only need
permission if you expect heavy traffic in or out of your home. For
example, if you opened a hair salon, customers would come and go.
If you are building computers delivery trucks would come and go
frequently. For these you might need a permit. If your business,
however, like mine is web design. All my customers are handled by
telephone and Internet and I get very few deliveries, I don't need
to ask permission. If your business will generate traffic, contact
the Mayor's office or your Township office and asked them how to
reach the zoning board. In most communities the zoning board meets
monthly, and you can make your request in person. If you do write a
letter, make sure you use spell check. Several words from your
question were misspelled.
