First, physics is the study of the physical universe which is where it gets its name. It involves a lot of math and I really enjoy it. It also involves things like motion, speed, velocity, and matter. A good place to start if you are looking into it would be Newton's three laws which state something like this:

  1. An object will travel in a strait line and forever unless an outside force has acted upon it.
  2. Force equals mass times acceleration. (F=ma)
  3. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

Once you get these, you can apply them to most everything in applied physics (engineering and things like that) but when you talk about theoretical physics (proving and creating theories) you get more complicated by including particle interactions and other things like that.

How does physics produce the different technologies?

Physics provides nothing, It is just the study group we call "Physics" to categorize it. There are different technologies, working differently, like Mechanical Engineering (Where is physics here? [We just use the laws, few scientists created and categorized, named Physics]).
