Plasma membranes (also called cell membranes) are composed of something called a phospholipid bilayer. This means that there are two layers of phosphate heads and lipid tails sandwiched together so that the phosphate heads face the outside environment and the inside of the cell, and that the lipid tails are in between the walls of phosphate heads. Cell membranes are also studded with proteins, some of which pass through the membrane (integral proteins) and some of which are outside but connected to the membrane (peripheral proteins). In addition to this, glycoproteins (proteins with sugars attached) are sometimes found on the outside of the membrane. plasma membrane of animal cells is made up of phospholipid bilayer. It contains phospholipid molecules, globular proteins, cholesterol, carbohydrates etc.model of the plasma membrane is known as the fluid mosaic model.
The plasma membrane is a lipid bi layer. It consists of phospolipids which have hydrophillic heads and hydrophobic tails. The heads form the outer part of the bi layer and the tails are sandwiched between the heads. Thus the surfaces of the bi layer are hydrophillic and the inner part is hydrophobic. The phospholipids are arranged in a mosaic pattern and the structure of plasma membrane is often referred to as a fluid mosaic. It is called fluid because the phospholipids can move about in the layer.
Besides the phospholipids, the plasma membrane also consists of lipoproteins, porins, glycoproteins and other molecules adhered to or as part of it.
The hydrophobic and hydrophillic nature of the plasma membrane offers it semi-permeability, that is, the membrane allows passage of only certain molecules.
In mammals, the plasma membrane is made of lipids and proteins

plasma membrane is made of a bilayer of lipids (or phospholipids) and protiens located inside and outside the same.
No it is not. A messenger RNA (mRNA) is made in the nucleus of the cell. It has nothing to do with the plasma membrane.

A cell membrane is also known as a plasma membrane or cytoplasmic membrane. The cell membrane separates the interior of a cell from its outside environment. The main function of a cell membrane is to protect the cell from its surroundings.
