The planetary model of an atom is simple. The nucleus is the planet and the electrons are the moons in the model.
Today the accepted atomic model is quantic.

Ernest Rutherford was the first scientist to describe an atomic model in which most of the atom is empty space. His model proposed that atoms have a dense positive nucleus surrounded by orbiting electrons in empty space.
Thomson's model does not account for the existence of positively charged particles within the atom. It also does not explain the stability of the atom or the arrangement of electrons within the atom. Additionally, it fails to describe the presence of different energy levels in the atom.
