Ipswich is in the Bremer River catchment, and some of its suburbs lie where the Bremer meets the Brisbane River. There are six other major waterways within the Ipswich council area: Bundamba Creek, Purga Creek, Reynolds Creek, Warrill Creek Mihi Creek and Western Creek.
