What is a sorority?

Sororities are a college women's social organization and a fraternities are men's social organizations. Some have residences and some don't. It is a very selective process for members and potential members going thorough recruitment. Soroties are a girl's dorm, and fraternities area boy's dorm.

to Become a "member" one must become an Active member. To become this, someone must first pledge to that organization, go through pledgeship and make the minimum GPA appointed by that fraternity. If a person successfully completes pledgeship and doesn't make grades they become a neophyte, and have a set amount of time until they can try and make grades again. If the pledge makes grades then they get to "initiate" through a ceremony, and officially become an Active Member. A person can be voted an inactive member by certain circumstances, in which they general aren't associated with the chapter. Once an Active graduates he takes on an Alum status for the fraternity.
