The Fiske Theatre is a motion picture theatre in Oak Grove, La. and is one of three single screen theaters still in operation in Louisiana. The Fiske Theatre was founded in 1928 by the late Donald Fiske also of Oak Grove. In 1950 he built the present theatre which was at the time the most modern and well equipped theatre in the South according to the Motion Picture Eqipment Catelog in 1951.
The theatre seats 700 people and operated continously as a first run theatre until 1988. From 1988 until 2007 it was used as a music venue. In 2007 the West Carroll Chamber renovated the theatre and returned it to motion picture exhibition.
It currently boast the largest screen and most up-to-date sound system in a 60 mile radius and is open Fri-Sun showing a different firstrun film each week. To find out what is playing call the movie line at 318-428-8289.
