Theoretically, the freezing point (temperature at which a liquid becomes a solid) should be the same temperature as the melting point (temperature at which a solid beceomes a liquid). However, recent research points out that sugars don't melt, they decompose, because they discovered that the melting point was heating rate dependent. A sugar will go to a liquid state at a lower temperature if you heat it up quickly, but it isn't really that sugar anymore, so it really hasn't melted. If you heat it up more slowly, you can get different (sometimes more desireable) flavors once it does liquify. This is based on research from Shelly Schmidt, a University of Illinois professor of food chemistry, published in 2011.
Hello there. Cornstarch has a very high melting point so when heated it will not melt... and if it does it will be at a very high temperature over quite a period of time.
An example of a low melting point is Candle Wax. A medium melting point would be Sugar (very slow melt).
Hope this Helps :)

There are some contradicting answers:
If you are talking about corn starch powder, the MSDS that I can find do not list a melting point.
32ºF
Candy corn is not a pure substance so it cannot have a set freezing point. The sucrose (sugar) in candy corn chemically decomposes before it gets hot enough to melt. The butter in the candy corn is non-crystalline and so, has no defined melting/freezing point.
No, maple syrup comes from the Maple tree. Corn syrup comes from corn.
Syrup has a high concentration of sugars which make it difficult to freeze. The more contaminants added to water, the lower the freezing point. So if sugar is added to water ie syrup the freezing point is less than 0 oC. Depending on the concentration of the syrup will determine if it can be frozen in a domestic freezer ~ -18 oC.
It is edible, but the chemicals used in getting the inedible variety of corn to this point could kill you.
No. Corn Syrup and High Fructose Corn Syrup will be labeled separately.
No, corn syrup does not contain proteins.
Corn syrup tastes similar to honey, and in many cases is used as substitute. Powdered corn syrup is a corn syrup that comes in powder and is sweet.
Around 110 degrees Celsius
3 parts light corn syrup, 1 part molasses
corn syrup
corn syrup...... I think
The units that corn syrup is measured in is grams.
