In 1882, the Haliton Iron Windmill company was formed. They made an all metal air rifle that was given away as a prize with the purchase of a windmill. The air rifle was more popular than the windmill, so the company started making inexpensive rifles for young shooters. The Model 51 rifle was the first Hamilton rifle to be chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge and has a 20" steel barrel. This rifle was made in the period 1935-1941. Value will depend heavily on condition, but is about $125 for a specimen in excellent shape.
