塩辛い (shiokarai) means 'salty' in Japanese. The wordしょっぱい (shoppai) may also be used.

Examples:

  • この魚は塩辛すぎて食べられない (kono sakana wa shiokarasugite taberarenai) - "This fish is too salty to eat."
  • 塩辛いものが大好きなんã? (shiokarai mono ga daisuki nanda) - "I love salty food."
  • 梅干しがすごくしょっぱくておいしい (umeboshi ga sugoku shoppakute oishii) - "Umeboshi are really salty and delicious."
