70HP according to Polaris
This ATV is rated 70 brake horse powers by its producers, Polaris Industries.
more than 70 because the polaris sportsman xp 850 has 70.
I have toped out at about 61mph before. The 400 sportsman goes about 55 to 60mph. The sportsman 500 flies down trails and has great accelaratsion. The sportsman 850 will do 84mph and the 550 broke in good and everthing will do close to 70mph. The 800 will do about 70mph to 75mph
About 850 miles.
i have had mine up to 120 Km/h right on the pin, which is 75 mph exactly. That's all you will get out of it stock. Trust me i have a need for speed and have tried it many times.
, I just purchased one.. I heard it could do about 70 stock.. I have hit 65 no problem but could not see the machine doing more than 80 stock .. at 65 on the softest shock setting and regular tire pressure you feel out of control on pavement. around 70 seems about a good capable speed I have heard from my local Polaris dealer that the new 850 XP Sportsman is capable of 84 mph which is hauling in anybody's book. I have a 700 EFI that will do about 65 and that is absolutely flying on an ATV, can't even imagine 80 plus. Mark in Colorado
It really depends on the engine. You shouldn't use ethanol mixed gas in any of them, but really the only one that will give you troubles is the 850. The 850 is very picky about fuel, and poor fuel can make it stumble and not run at all. Run only high-octane, non-ethanol fuel in an 850. The older 500 and 800 engines will run fine on pretty much any pump gas.
70 ish 2011 is 70 2012 is 77
