Kitchen counters/ islands are typically 3'-0" high but sometimes a raised portion is installed at 'bar' height and that could be about 8" +/- higher than the counter top.

Wall cabinets should be set 54" off a finished floor.

Base cabinets are traditionally 34-1/2" height.

Countertop at 1-1/2" (some materials are +/- that)

Backsplash at 18"

Wall cabinets set at 54" range from traditional sizes of 30", 33", 36" 42" Custom cabinets may have more varied heights available.

With this math a 30" height cabinet brings you to a finished height of 84"AFF

A 36" height cabinet brings you to a finished height of 90"AFF

A 42" height cabinet brings you to a finished height of 96"AFF

Standard base cabinet height is 34.5". Standard countertop thickness is 1.5". This creates a working countertop height of 36". Remember that this height is measured from the top of the finished floor! If you have a wood or stone floor that is 3/4" thick, you might have trouble getting some appliances installed!
