My first thought is that it is unlikely that it is genuine. Various companies have printed replicas of Revolutionary and Confederate currency since the early 20th century. These were given away as promotional items or sold as collectibles. The paper was artificially aged and the printing was photocopied from genuine bills.
If you can't find the word "COPY" or the name of a printing company on the bill, you can have it examined in person by a currency dealer, but please be prepared for bad news.
Assuming you mean the series 1976 $2 bill, it's worth $2.

The first $10 bill was issued in 1861. If you HAVE a $10 bill from 1776, don't go to the place that gave it to you anymore.

It may be authentic but it's not from 1776. Please turn the bill over and look at the printing date on the front. You'll see that the bill was printed in 1976. They were issued to mark the country's Bicentennial. The image on the back of the bill is taken from Trumbull's famous painting, The Signing of the Declaration of Independence, which of course _did_ happen in 1776.
