Pure vanilla extract, like wine, improves with age. And in my opinion the soda's alright, still prefer the original, just wish I could find the traditional flavor though.

What are the statistics of A and W Rootbeer?

A&W Rootbeer was founded in 1919 in Lodi, California by Roy Allen. Today, A&W Rootbeer is the number one selling rootbeer and is mixed daily and sold at hundreds of A&W restaurants. Allen purchased the formula from a pharmacist in Arizona. The unique recipe is still a secret today. A&W drive-ins that feature "tray-boys" for curb side service are thought to be the country's first drive-ins. Later, A&W Restaurants added full-service dining. Allen took on a partner, Frank Wright, in 1922. The official name of A&W was selected by taking the letters of their last names and adding the "and." Through the years, a number of changes and acquisitions took place, and today A&W, along with Long John Silvers, is owned by Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. and is known is Yum! Brands The A&W mascot is the Great Root Bear, who came into being in the 1970's. A&W Rootbeer can not be purchased at any restaurant except A&W Restaurants. You can find a lot more information about A&w Rootbeer on the official site.
