Amplitude measures the rise and fall of the wave, i.e. peak to peak
Amplitude is the maximum extent of vibration of a body from its mean position. The amplitude of a sound wave indicates the loudness of the sound.
You would expect the Amplitude to DECREASE as the wave spreads out.
Amplitude has to do with sound. Vibrating air creates sound using amplitude which is the size of the vibration, and how loud it is. Frequency is the speed of the vibration. The higher the speed, the higher the sound and vice-versa. Amplitude has no effect on wave speed as relates to sound. I believe the same holds for waves of water. Amplitude or size of the wave effects its impact, not its speed.
The amplitude.
amplitude shows how strong/big the vibration is.

The loudness of a sound wave is proportional to the amplitude of the wave, which is to say, the size of the vibration.
No. If a vibration is smaller, the sound is higher pitched. To get a quieter sound the amplitude of the sound-wave needs to be smaller. +++ It depends whether you mean amplitude or wavelength being "smaller", and they are two different things. If the vibration's amplitude is smaller the sound is quieter irrespective of frequency. If the vibration is more rapid, the frequency is higher but the wavelength correspondingly smaller irrespective of amplitude.
Sound is actually a vibration in the air which travels in the form of a wave. The larger the amplitude of the wave, the "louder" the sound. the smaller the amplitude of the wave, the "softer" the sound.

The term for maximum displacement is the amplitude of the wave.
what does a wave with high amplitude have
Energy content of the wave is dependent on the amplitude of the wave
Vibration is the frequency of the wave.
