An Apocalypse (Greek: ἀποκάλυψις apokálypsis; "lifting of the veil" or "revelation") is a disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception, i.e. the veil to be lifted.

The term also can refer to the eschatological final battle, the Armageddon, and the idea of an end of the world. In Christianity The Apocalypse of John (Greek Ἀποκάλυψις Ἰωάννου) is the Book of Revelation, the last book of the Christian Bible.

"Apocalips" is a portmanteau of "apocalypse" and "lips," used to describe lip products known for their bold, intense colors and long-lasting formulas. These products typically provide a high-impact, dramatic look for the lips.
