The Beacons is a famous walking area. The Black mountains form part of the Brecon range. Within the Beacons is the rural town of Brecon where the South Wales Borders were based and who fought the Zulus as seen in the film ZULU. Outside the town is an area known as Daric Lines - Part of the Base of the SAS
