That question is difficult to answer. The lifespan of a car is dependent obviously on the initial quality of the car (Toyota is known to build cars as bullet proof as any) and maintenance done by the owner. That last is the huge variable.
If an owner doesn't change oil, coolant and other fluids at recommended intervals the lifespan of any vehicle will be shortened considerably. On the other hand owners who follow the maintenance schedule recommended by the manufacturer can count on 200,000 or more miles without worry.
"Consumer Reports" magazine has a "High Mileage Club" web page full of stories about vehicles with massive amounts of mileage (the stories start at 200,000 miles) and there are plenty of Toyota vehicles mentioned. Most of those stories detail regular (but ordinary) maintenance ranging from simple oil changes to frequent washing and waxing of the exterior.
So, bottom line. If you care for a vehicle properly the lifespan can be dozens of years and hundreds of thousands of miles. Care for it badly and you could be car shopping again before you've mailed the last ticket in the payment book.
