A litre. I hope whoever wrote litre was trolling.
The standard measurement of volume in the standard system of measurement is Ounce (Oz). However, there are two completely different units for dry and fluid ounces. There's 8oz (fluid) in the larger unit known as a cup and each single fluid ounce is made up of 2 Tablespoons. You will very rarely see standard's "dry" measurement of volume, which is made up of pints, bushels, pecks, and barrels.
Common SI units for volume include the cubic meter (m3) and the cubic centimeter (cm3)
A rock has a volume of 89mL and a mass of 34.6g. What is the density of the rock ?
You could use Liters (L) and gallons (Gal)
or you can use measurements cubed: centimeters cubed (cm3) meters cubed (M3)
In the metric system the basic unit for volume is Liter.
In the SAE system it changes from fluid ounces to cups and pints and quarts and gallons, etc.

so that we have a basic measurement all over the whole world of length, volume, etc.
The metric system has the gram. The standard system has many depending on the size ounce, pound, ton, etc.
Volume is mostly measured in mL, L, or cm3.And cubic meters. In the metric system.Gallon.ounces. Cubic feet. In the English system.

Many units are used to measure volume; in SI, the basic unit would be cubic meters, since lengths are measured in meters.
In the SI (metric) system, the basic unit of length is the meter, and the basic unitof mass is the kilogram. Volume is not a fundamental quantity, like distance andmass are, since it's made from the cube of the meter.
the meter
The SI or international system of measurement base unit of mass is not the milliliter. The SI base unit of mass is the kilogram.
The basic measurement unit is a metre.
The basic measurement unit is a kilogram.
