Jesus preached to love your neighbor as yourself, to love one another, and to love God with all of your being. These teachings sum up the 10 commandments- Example: If you love God you won't take his name in vain, and if you love each other you won't steal or cheat.

However, Jesus often warned about the reality of Hell for non-believers for their sins (the breaking of the 10 commandments) if they did not repent. Jesus' teachings about Hell and the confrontation to sinners is what ultimately led to his crucifixion on the roman cross (in addition to his claims of being the Messiah). If Jesus had not preached about Hell, but only about love, people would not have viewed him as offensive and would not have deemed it necessary to kill him by the cross. Ironically, the very murder of the Messiah provides life for those who believe in him and repent of their sin.

The remainder of Jesus'preachingtypically were parables.

Jesus teaching can be summed up in the first two commandments they summarize man's obligation to God

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said to him, 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'

But Jesus message wasn't really one of morals Jesus himself said He came to lead the nation of Israel to repentance so much of His teaching, was directed at Israel

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

What is the gospel message of Christ in Mark's gospel?

Jesus is portrayed as an apocalyptic prophet. If we take Mark's account seriously, Jesus would be a monumental failure, or at least whoever wrote Mark would have been a monumental failure. The evidence that Jesus was an apocalyptic prophet is that Mark begins with John the Baptist, who taught a very similar message of an ending world soon to come. Furthermore, some of Jesus' teachings really only sound moral in the context of a world that is close to an end. And lastly, the Coming of the Son of Man is a major theme in Mark, Matthew, and Luke.

What did Thomas Jefferson believed?

Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, believed that Jesus had taught some of the greatest moral principles, but that the four evangelists had added false stories of miracles and claims that Jesus was divine. He sought to promote the morals of the ancient philosophers, Jewish ethics and the teachings of Jesus. Jefferson edited the four Gospels to produce a thin book that is now called "The Jefferson Bible", literally creating it with a razor and paste. This included the philosophical and moral teachings of Jesus but omitted all claims to miracles or to his divinity.
