Best engine for what? Ease of installation? Cost? Drag or road racing? Fuel economy or reliability?
Me I would stick with the Caprice version of the LT1 (iron block and heads). Its dirt cheap, common, very tough (aluminum is lighter but iron is much more forgiving), will drop right in place of your existing motor with no mods needed. The money you save in not buying a Corvette motor or LS-Series engine can be used to modify for power.
The older style impala SS had kits available to do this. 1995-1996
please answer the question
no records were kept on the total number of 396's put into the impala that year.
it comes with the 350, You can supercharge that or put in a twin board 440, mab even a V8
The engine will have to work harder to get it rolling.
The typical 2008 Chevrolet impala without all the bells and whistles put into it usually runs a 348 cubic-inch v8 engine . Which is usually about a 5.2 liter engine.
Yes. You'll need to change the exhaust and cooling systems.
I am guessing you can, I put it on my 2005. I had a split welded on in the rear. I now have two mufflers. Looks awesome, like an Impala SS. Engine performance picked up and mileage increased slightly.
1996
Where do I put freon in a 2007 chevy impala
the best oil is HONDA HP TRANSMISSION OIL and the best 2 cycle engine oil is KLOTZ TECHNIPLATE and run the mixture 40:1
