I have been playing the Call of Duty franchise since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Maxed out the last prestige level for all of them from then up until Blops 2 (with no cheats, hacks, boosting etc). I have become very well versed with every single gun Blops 2 has to offer (I have the "Weapons Mastery" calling card from unlocking diamond camo for everything in the game). People are often very surprised to see someone with a 2.26 kdr (kill/death ratio) who's favorite/most deadly weapon used is a - (drum roll please) - pistol. Yes, you heard me right. In my opinion, the best gun in Black Ops 2 is the Tac-45 pistol.
You might be thinking "This guy's on crack." or something but no, in a skilled pair of hands this little "noisy cricket" is lethal. It's very quick, you can move around very fast with it, quick on the draw and very very accurate. Even at longer distances it is a reliable weapon. I've actually taken out snipers at long range with it. (Yes it is rather humorous when a sniper gets owned by someone 200+ yards away with a handgun. Realistic? No. Fun? Heck yeah. It's pros far outweigh its cons, which really only is its draw back if you're taking someone at range who might be using a FAL with a target finder. - Then you're kinda screwed if you have no cover to duck behind.
However this is so set "best gun" in the game, otherwise ev-er-y-one would be using it. (Like the PDW for example...*cough cough*) this is all just my personal opinion. But it is an opinion with a decent amount of weight behind it. I never go negative, pretty much always in the top 3 if not first and more often then not I utterly destroy the opposing team sooo yeah, for me? Tac-45 all the way.
Have almost 10k kills with it and it's just a great great weapon. 2nd place gun for me is the Peacekeeper sub machine gun. An assault rifle when it comes to accuracy without the need for burning a point for a stock (which to me is absolutely ridiculous. You shouldn't require an attachment on your weapon in order to make your legs move faster I mean come on people.) and my 3rd favorite is none other than the LSAT LMG. Best out of the LMG bunch in all categories.
