Mold and mildew in the bathroom is typically caused by water that is not allowed to evaporate. If you can get more ventilation into you bathroom that is the easiest cure. However, if that's not an option, spraying the shower stall with a simple solution of water and vinegar will help keep the surfaces clean.
If they are white then we use bleach. If they are colored we use vinegar and it usually kills it.
One way to remove mold from towels is to use vinegar in the wash water. Another way is to use ammonia.
The rewashing with a small amount of bleach is the only method that I have ever found effective.
I would wash it on a gentle cycle in the washing machine with just a little bleach.
Ideally, you should wash your bath towels within 24 hours - as the dampness remaining in the towels following a bath or shower, can - if left too long, cause the towels to become smelly, or even develop mildew. Of course follow the care labels on your towels, but it's best to wash in warm water, and without any fabric softener - which will remove the drying properties of your towels over time.
If they are white towels, use bleach in the wash to kill off any mold or mildew. If they are colored, try using a cup of white vinegar in the wash. And make sure they are completely dry before folding and putting them away.
Use an air-freshener.
You may not always be able to identify brownish stains on stored sheets or towels. They may be from mold or mildew, or they may be blood or even feces. It's best to wash the linens to remove the stains before using them.
Wash them
In the drying process, you rub off some dead skin cells and body oil. This is going to cause bacteria to grow in the towel. Mildew is also common in most houses and will grow on the damp towel.
