A very quick, easy way is to use an egg slicer. Leave the egg slicer open and press the mushroom down through the wires, stem first. Then press the stem of the next mushroom on the head of the previous mushroom. Keep pushing them through one on top of the other. You'll have to press the last one all the way through with your thumbs.

∙ 16y agoAccording to all the Cooking Shows I watch, you should never "wash" mushrooms. Rather, they suggest simply wiping over them with a dry cloth or paper towel.
