Kroger Co.
I work for a Marketing and Media Company. XTC Media Group, LLC. We keep stats on just such question and according to what I can find Kroger is the Largest Supermarket chain in the US. However, another thread on Answers.com says that Wal-Mart is the largest supermarket chain in the US while this thread says that Kroger is the biggest supermarket. What is the meaning of Largest vs. Biggest? Kroger, under many other names owns over 20,000 supermarkets. I do not believe that are that many Walmart Stores in the US and every Walmart does not sell groceries. Would someone who may be more up on this issue please would the Web Master please resolve this issue? Either one is wrong or one is right, or biggest vs. largest has a different definition in someone else mind. We are in Atlanta, GA and within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta; there are about 31 Walmart Stores while there are over 228 Kroger grocery stores. This issue needs be correct or corrected!
