A 132 kV substation is normally called a grid substation. It would normally use two or more 132/33 kV Transformers rated at 90 MVA, or two or more 132/11 kV transformers rated at 30 MVA.

Literally a 132 kVA substation would have a 132 kVA transformer.

A 132 kV substation usually uses 132/33 kV transformers rated at 90 MVA, or 132/11 kV transformers rated at 30 MVA.

Can a a electric substation in a city use transformers to increase the power output?

No! A transformer changes voltage levels, not power levels. In fact, the output power of a transformer is actually a little lower than its input power, due to the efficiency of a transformer.

What do you mean by package substation?

Prefabricated power distribution substation Its basically a whole 11kv substation but in one unit. It contains a transformer, ring main unit, fuse board and circuit breakers etc. It still uses as much space as a normal substation that houses a separate transformer, ring main unit etc but is easier to transport and is probably cheaper.

What is 132kva gridstation?

132 Kilo Volt Amps (kVA) is the amount of theoretical power being used by the transformer. The transformer takes high voltage from transmission lines and converts it to lower usable voltages. the power of 132 kVA comes from the product of current (I) and voltage (V) going into or coming out of the transformer. The gridstation as a whole takes in a few large power transmission lines, transforms their voltage, and distributes electricity to consumers.

What is tertiary bus in substation?

Many substation transformers have three windings - the primary, secondary, and tertiary. The tertiary bus is the bus connected to the tertiary of the transformer. this is often used as station power for the substation, since the tertiary is very often a distribution level voltage (2 - 15kV).

Why you are indicating capacity of transformer in KVA?

transformer action doesn't depend on power factor that is why we indicate its rating in KVA

What is a mini-substation?

A substation that is smaller than the average substation. A substation converts electric power from one voltage to another.
