John Wilkes Booth died at Garretts Farm near Port Royal, Virginia. He was never tried or convicted of any crime.
Lincoln died after some languishing and Booth was found hiding in a barn and was captured. There is speculation to this day whether Booth was the actual perpetrator of the crime, at least in the minds of the Booth family.
Because his crime was major, and he was a well known public celebrity.
according to "history," yes. truth is, we're not actually certain is the person killed in the barn was booth. he was not positively identified nor seen again after sealed in his coffin. a witness reported that the man killed had red hair which booth did not, along with other characteristics unlike booth. its believed that to instill faith in the new govt that they can respond quickly and handle such things, they reported booth dead. why would booth report himself alive to be put to death? right? he later upon his death bed claimed his identity, but was not believed.
it starts when booth and brennan are staying together at booth's house and brennan is really preggers and yeah. Then they go to a crime scene and its pretty normal except booth and brennan are together.

With the help of his accomplice David Herold, John Wilkes Booth fled Washington shortly after assassinating Lincoln. Despite having a Broken leg, Booth was able to avoid the authorities for some time by hiding in the wilderness. On April 26th of that same year, the authorities caught up with Booth on a farm in Virginia. The barn he had been using for shelter was subsequently surrounded by armed men, who blocked Booth's only path to freedom. The men sent to find Booth had orders to capture him alive; nevertheless, he was shot and killed by one of the men, who insisted that god had given him the order to kill Booth.
