∙ 14y agoThe center of an atom, the nucleus, is occupied by the protons and neutrons. The protons have a positive charge while the nuetrons have no charge. The electrons are way out on the edges of the atom, with negative charges to equal the positive protons. Therefore, the center of an atom is positive, while it is negative on the outside, or in the shells.
