These two drugs are similar, but NOT the same. Hydrocodone is the generic name for Vicodin, Norco, Lortab and about 30 others. It is a narcotic analgesic, and not quite as strong as Oxycodone. It's also SLIGHTLY less regulated i.e. it can be CALLED IN to a pharmacy by a physician. It can be habit forming. Vicodin and the rest are a combo of hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol).

Oxycontin is the EXACT same thing as Oxycodone it's just CR- Controlled release , so you do not have to take so many pills depending on the MG the Oxycontin medication useally lasts up to 12 hours while Oxycodone lasts 4-8 hours , again depending on MG. Hydrocodone you can only take by mouth , you can snort if you chose to but would not recommend it because you the acetaminophen - Tylenol that is in it . OxycodoneIR can be administered multiple ways including , eating them , snorting them , smoking them , and injecting them and also putting them up your anus . Oxycontin you can not do anyone of those besides eating them due to the coating on the pill unless you can remove the coating somehow . It would be best to just eat the Oxycontin .
