Jesus died on the day after passover in 30 AD, the exact date by the modern calendar is disputed. More info: We do not know for sure the exact age of Jesus when He was crucified, but He was probably 33 years old. Here is the argument: Jesus was baptized, but the reason He was baptized was to "fulfill all righteousness," (Matt. 3:15). He had to fulfill the legal requirements for entering into the priesthood after the order of Melchizedek (Psalm 110:4; Heb. 5:8-10; 6:20). Priests offered sacrifice to God on behalf of the people. Jesus became a sacrifice for our sin (1 Pet. 2:24; 2 Cor. 5:21) in His role as priest. To be consecrated as a priest, Jesus had to be: 1) washed with water - baptism - (Lev. 8:6; Exodus 29:4, Matt. 3:16). 2) Anointed with oil - the Holy Spirit - (Lev. 8:12; Exodus 29:7; Matt. 3:16). Additionally, He may have needed to be 30 years old, Num. 4:3, "from thirty years and upward, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tent of meeting." Therefore we can conclude that Jesus began His earthly ministry at the age of 30. Since it went on for 3 1/2 years before Jesus was crucified, it is safe to say that He was 33 at the time of His death. Here is a possible timeline that I have researched. This is only what I have found and some may disagree with this but, as I've researched from my concordance and biblical commentaries, this is as close as I can get.

6-4 BC • Birth of Jesus Christ (this was possibly during the fall, after harvest, since they were being taxed (Luke 2:1-5).

5-4 BC • Escape to Egypt (Matthew 2:13-15) before the slaughter of children.

4 BC • Herod the Great dies (Matt. 2:19) (possibly spring).

7-8 AD • Jesus visits Jerusalem as a child with his parents (Luke 2:41-42).

12 AD • Augustus makes Tiberius co-regent.

14 AD • Tiberius becomes Caesar (August 19th).

25 AD • Pilate & Caiaphas appointed to office.

29/30 AD • Ministry of John the Baptist begins (Matt. 3:1ff, Luke 3:1ff.

29/30 AD • Christ's ministry begins (Matt. 3:13-17, Luke 3:21-23; this passage give his age.

33 AD • Jesus dies (Friday, April 3rd(Nisan 14), approximately 3:00pm, had to be before the Hebrew day started. You must also remember that any part of a day constituted a full day according to a Hebrew tradition).

In order to attempt to come to a concrete date, you must examine all the evidence. It is seen that the officials at Christ's trial were Caiaphas and Pilate who were in office simultaneously from A.D. 26 to 36. If you examine the day of crucifixion, it was concluded that it occurred on Friday, Nisan 14. With the help of astronomy the only possible years on which Friday, Nisan 14 occurred were A.D. 27, 30, 33, and 36. You can eliminate A.D. 27 and 36 when you look at the ministry of Christ, leaving only A.D. 30 and 33 as feasible dates. But, further examination with astronomy and the life of Christ the most viable date for the death of Christ was A.D. 33. This date is confirmed when you look at history, because it not only fulfills several passages of the gospels with it's meaning but it also prevents the charge that the gospels are inaccurate in some parts of the passion narrative.

Jesus died on the cross round about our Easter time, when he was about 33 years old. As our calendar begins on Jesus birthday, that would be the year A.D.33.

By the way, he rose again from the dead about three days later, and is now very much alive in heaven.

The Bible clearly states He died during the daylight portion of the Passover (in the Bible days begin and end at sunset). Many biblical students point to the year 31 AD as the year of this event. If this is so, then Jesus died on Passover Wednesday at 3:00 PM and was buried just before sunset. This date would be April 25, 31 A.D..
