At First Communion the child receives Christ in the Blessed Sacrament for the very first time in his/her life(hence "FIRST"). At Confirmation, the young adult receives the Seal of the Holy Spirit.
First Holy Communion is when you first receive holy communion. It is normally celebrated in grade 4 or 3. Confirmation is the when you are given the holy spirit so that it fulfils you. This usually celebrated in grade 6.
Neither one is first; the first is Baptism. But usually communion comes before confirmation.
In the Catholic Church, the next is traditionally Confirmation.
Baptism, first Communion, confirmation, marriage (or holy orders), last rites.
A matter of minutes if you are confirmed as a roman Catholic. Eastern rite does confirmation either at birth, or after your first communion. I do not know when you receive communion in the eastern rite though.
The Sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church are generally given in a specific order : Baptism, Confession, Communion, Confirmation, Marriage OR Holy Orders, Last Rites. The Quincinera is generally celebrated around the 15th birthday (quince being Spanish for 15) and meant to celebrate Confirmation. By the time of Confirmation, a Catholic girl should have already received Baptism, Confession, and Communion.
For a catholic there are the 5 big events within the church. Baptism - When you are christened (Made) a catholic First Holy Communion - The first time somebody eats the communion bread and drinks communion wine. Confirmation - The choosing of a new christian name. Marriage - Obvious. Death - The funeral, returning to God.
to be a catholic in good standing, meaning that you go to church on sunday, and i believe you go to some sessions with the communicant before the first communion, and i think when they receive communion you place your hand on them. It is awesome, girl or boy!
Dean Martin was in fact Catholic, being raised in the Roman Catholic Church from birth. He made his First Holy Communion in 1927 and his Confirmation in 1928 at St. Anthony's Church.
Go to your local church, ask if there are any baptismal ceremonies coming up, get baptized. Then after that, if you are over the age of 18, you must have your First Holy Communion and your Confirmation. You are usually baptized when you are a baby if your family is too and wants you to be Catholic. Then you have your First Holy Communion when you are in second grade, then, when you are 17 or 18, you have you Confirmation. It may take a lot of Religion classes for you to be able to receive First Holy Communion and Confirmation, but if you wish to be Catholic you must go through with it. Then after all of that you must go to mass every Sunday and Holy Days to receive Holy Communion (the Eucharist). Trust me, I'm a Catholic, I know what I'm doing!ANSWER:Cute. :-)1. Visit a Catholic Church in your neighborhood.2. Tell the priest you'd like to consider becoming a Catholic.3. Ask about their RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) program.4. If you were baptized in a non-Catholic Christian denomination, you will not be re-baptized. You'll just need to receive the other Sacraments of Christian initiation: Confession/Reconciliatiion, Holy Communion/Eucharist and ConFIRMation.5. Process takes approximately 4 to 5 months; faster if necessary for some legitimate reason.
Yes. Further, you can not have any outstanding unconfessed mortal sins.
Nobody can take Holy Communion in a Catholic Church, you may only receive Holy Communion from the priest, and then only if you have been baptized in the Catholic Church and previously made your first Confession and First Holy Communion. Bottom line? An Anglican may not take communion in a Catholic Church.
Catholics do not 'take' communion, they 'receive' communion. Yes, you must be a baptized Catholic to receive communion in a Catholic Church. Also, you must have undergone instruction and received your First Holy Communion.
Baptism and communion come first.
