Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be Christians and that their church is a Christian Church. Their beliefs and practices do differ from other Christian churches, in some cases strongly.

Another perspective:Like many other Christian groups, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that they alone will be saved because they "stand for truth and righteousness" and that the followers of all other religions (including other Christians) will not be. They regard the Trinity as an incorrect doctrine, and believe (as do most religious groups) that they alone have the correct interpretation of scripture. They do not accept the divinity of Jesus Christ, demoting him to a subservient god-like human. JWs, when asked, will always say that Jesus is the 'Son of God' but this has a totally different meaning to them than it does to most Christians. JWs, if found breaking the rules of their organisation, run the risk of the draconian punishment of disfellowshipping - which means that all the rest of their group shun them. This has a profound psychological effect - especially when those shunning you are your own family members within the group.

The Christian Church traces its roots back to Biblical times. On the whole it does not merely rely on scriptural interpretation for its doctrine, but also on the tradition it has enjoyed throughout the last 2000 years, back through countless eminent theologians, right back to the desert fathers and the early Church, many of whom could actually remember the apostles themselves as Christian doctrine was formulated. However, the rise of Protestantism in the sixteenth century caused theologians to question many doctrines established by the traditions of the Catholic Church and rely on the authority of the Bible instead. Jehovah's Witnesses are extreme examples of this Protestant tradition, although they are not Biblical literalists as fundamentalists are. They employ the Protestant Bible without the Apocrypha.

Minor differences are to be found between all Christian denominations - for example Baptists believe in adult baptism alone, by full immersion, and not by 'sprinkling'; Pentecostals emphasise the gifts of the Holy Spirit especially in the speaking in tongues; Quakers and the Salvation Army shun all forms of sacramental worship. However, underlying all these differences there exists a belief in the Trinitarian nature of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) which sets the Jehovah's Witnesses aside from the vast majority of people calling themselves Christians.

The practice of disfellowshipping is unusual and is not endorsed by any major Christian denominations (but is practised unofficially of course).

Jehovah's Witnesses are true Christians Central to the Christian faith is the gospel, the teaching that humans have hope for salvation through the message and works of Jesus, and particularly his atoning death .. Christians also believe Jesus is the Messiah prophesied in the Hebrew Bible.

Can a Jehovah witness date someone who is studying the faith?

There are many different type of Christianity based religions. Jehovah's Witnesses are one themselves. Being a christian is basically about believing that Christ was alive, and that he did come to earth at one point in time. The difference about Jehovah's witnesses and some other Christians is that Jehovahs witnesses believe that Christ was Jehovah's son, not God himself. And so, to answer your question, Jehovahs witnesses do not date girls or boys from different religions, Christian or not. If someone were to be in a relationship with a person who has a different god, it would almost be like he believes in that god as well. If a witness were to date a girl or boy of a different religion, it would be because he or she is not truly worshiping Jehovah.

Do Jehovahs celebrate something on Jan 28th?

No. The only thing we celebrate is the memorial of Jesus Christ's death which is held in March/April depending on daylight savings, as that has an impact on when we observe it. But perhaps, there was a convention or assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses going on in your area.

What is the difference between the person of christ and the work of Christ?

There is very little difference. Christ taught that He was the Christ and came to earth to do the will of His Father. Once we are converted to this truth we become a person of Christ. It is then our responsibility to work with a will converting others to this same truth.
