There are both Mario Kart and Mario Kart Solus games available. With any game, Solus simply means that the game comes with no peripherals.

Depends on the type. If you're talking about the shortform for Super Mario Kart, they either don't sell anymore or are at a flee market. MK64 and MKSS(GBA Mario Kart) have probably the same condition. MKDD(GCN Mario Kart), MKDS, and MKW sell at low cost stores like Gamestop and MKW and MKDS sell at Big stores like Wal-Mart. Not so sure about MKDS though.
I heard that one is in overalls and the other isn't, but I don't have either so I'm not sure.
Super Mario Kart is not for Wii.
Mario Kart series is for racing and Paper Mario series and Super Mario Brothers series is for adventure.
The Mario Kart series has no storyline. It's just kart racing action.

yes there is another racing game besides Mario kart its called Mario racing tournament for the computer. there is also another called ultra-racing/Mario with the champions Hello! is Mario and sonic at the Olympic games one of those?

Mario Kart. It has been around longer, has more characters, and more courses, not to mention online play. Diddy Kong Racing isn't that god. You can even play as Diddy Kong IN the Mario Kart Series! (Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart Wii to be exact.)
