Is there something specific you are looking for? This kind of question is like asking what is different between a burger made at Hooters and one made in the back yard barBQ. They are both burgers. Yet besides the obvious, one has 6 cylinders and one has 8 cyl. there are a few considerations. using the 6 as a base value we can look at the 8 cylinder characteristics. * has more horse power, bigger suspension, beefier drive train, stronger breaking and tougher structural construction. What this means is it can pull more, haul heavier and do better with smaller, or larger, loads on the hills. With this capability comes costs. More gas consumption when its running and more costs at tuneup time. When it come time to overhaul it cost more too. So when checking one out check the payload you are using it for. If you are not pulling a heavy trailer up hills then do you need that extra power? That is the only place where I ever needed a V8. The V8 actually did better with gas mileage on some trips because it didn't have to work as hard as my V6 did. But that was rare.
