An equation is a statement that two (preferably different) expressions are EQUAL to each other (hence EQUAtion)
An expression is series of numbers, variables, and operations which makes mathematical sense. (when I say "makes mathematical sense" I simply mean that "5x + -/* -2" would not count as an expression since you have a subtraction sign divided by a multiplication sign) Since an equals sign is not a number, variable, NOR an operation, you canNOT have an equals sign in a single expression (that would turn it into an equation).
For example...
Equation: 3x + 2 = 9/x - 7
Expression: 3x + 2
or
Expression: 9/x - 7
Note how the equation serves to join two different expressions together. An expression alone cannot provide any useful information (in general). Rather, an equation is needed in order to draw useful mathematical conclusions.
An equation has an equal = sign whereas an expression does not.
Equation: x+3=3+x (notice the equal sign: equal; equation)Expression: x+3 (notice no equal sign)
An algebraic expression doesn't have an equal sign (e.g. 4x+7) whereas an algebraic equation does (e.g. 4x+7=19). 4x=19-7 4x=12 x=12/4 x=3
an algebraic expression has no = sign. it could be like x+4, but an equation has to have an = sign. like x+4=5
An expression simply contains no equals sign. This is an expression: 2x + 4y + 3 An equation contains an equals sign. This is an equation: 2x + 4y + 3 = 0
An equation has an equal = sign whereas an expression does not.

Expression has no answer. a equation has an answer
i think what makes an equation an equation is y= whatever
An expression simply contains no equals sign. This is an expression: 2x + 4y + 3 An equation contains an equals sign. This is an equation: 2x + 4y + 3 = 0
Yes
They both are made up of algebraic terms but an expression does not contain an equality sign whereas an equation does have an equality sign.
An expression has no equal sign whereas an equation does have an equal sign
An equation is a ploblem with no answer and an expression is a problem with an answer so you'll get different answers with an equation and an expression.
