In lens light passes right through the glass and reaches the other side. In the case of mirror the light hits the glass and instead of passing through to the other side of the glass it gets reflected back. This is because of the silver coating on one side of the glass.

Convex lenses and convex mirrors are the complete opposite of each other. Convex mirrors make images smaller, while convex lenses make images bigger, and more magnified and focused.

What is the difference between concave lens and the concave mirror?

Not much except concave mirror reflects and concentrate the light and lens let trough and distorts the light "concave -the inner surface of a sphere." defines the shape of the lens or mirror

What is the difference between mirror and lenses?

Light passes through a lens, typically being bent by refraction. Light reflects off a mirror.

What is a difference between concave mirror and concave lens?

A concave mirror is usually used to project something onto a screen. A concave lens is usually used to view an image through the naked eye.

What is the difference between the virtual image formed by a convex lens and a concave lens?

The difference is that when virtual image is formed by the concave mirror...it is larger than its original size..but when it is formed by the convex mirror..it is smaller than the original size....

What is the difference between lense and lens?

"Lense" is a misspelling of "lens," which is the correct spelling referring to a curved piece of glass or other transparent material that focuses or disperses light rays.

What is the difference between the way parallel light rays are affected by a concave mirror and a concave lens?

The difference between the two is that once the light passes through the concave lens it diverges, and the rays are refracted outward, and never meet a focal point. Then there is the parallel light rays that bounce off the curved surface of a concave mirror and then meet a single point ( focal point).

Does the focal length of a spherical mirror or lens change when placed under water?

i do not think so because a mirror an a lens is two same things except that mirrors can reflect the water and the lens may refract or bend the water so that can change the focal length between the mirror and the lens

Is lens the same as mirror?

a lens you can see through and a mirror reflects

Explain the difference between the concave mirror and convex mirror?

A convex mirror bulges out. A concave mirror curves inward. For a convex mirror, light rays are reflected to meet at a point, while, for a concave mirror, light rays seem to be reflected from a point. If the incident rays were paraxial, the reflected rays are reflected to meet at, or appear to be reflected to a point referred to as the focal point of the lens. For a convex mirror, the focal point is real, while, that of a concave lens is virtual.
