IMO, A fact is something which can be prooved and backed up with evidence. A theory is basically a concept that cannot be prooved or has not yet been verified.
A fact is something which is inherently true. For example, 2 + 2 = 4 is a fact of base 10 mathematics. A theory, scientifically, is a well-tested explanation of phenomena based on facts.
a fact is when you you can backup facts and knowledge about a subject. theory is when you guess, but you're not really sure your answer is right
A scientific theory is more elaborated than a simple hypothesis and generally is validated by experiments.
