- clear
- neat
- concise
- not too clustered,
- subjective
- Should be easy to read
- Smallest text 42pt font
- Space between lines
- Easy to read colour scheme
- If it will not fit scrap or start a new slide
- Use colour to highlight key word
- Use pictures + animation (Pictures are great for breaking up sections and too attract attention as well)
- You should know who is the audience to know how much they know about on your topic and this will help you to know how much you should elaborate.
And before you start try to:
- Prepare on paper before going into powerpoint
- Prepare what you are going to say based on talk outline than write slides
- Practice by yourself to get timing correct and to gain confidence
- Practice with an audience
- Take criticism well & make changes
- Helps with confidence
While presenting
- Smile and make eye contact
- Breathe deeply
- Talk to audience as if they are friends
- Use simple, proper and clear language.
