In some ways yes, some main differences are... Big cats walk with their tails inbettween their legs while domestic cats have there tail in the air. You can cuddle a domestic cat but if I where you I wouldn't try that with a big cat. Big cats don't 'miow' or necesserilly 'hiss' or purr. They roar and while young make kind squeally noises to their mother. It is very difficult to teach a big cat how to behave.

∙ 7y agoBig cats are usually from the genus panthera and include lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars and snow leopards. Big cats can roar. All other cats are classified as small cats even though their size may approach that of a big cat. There are 5 species of big cat and 32 species of small cats including the domestic cat.
