Well, a fact is like a theorem :) This means it is a proven thing. It is factual. Like Pi = 3.14... it's a theorem (or fact) because it is mathematically proven.

A theory on the other hand is something which hasn't been proven... It is what someone thinks or their thoughts on an issue, E.g.: my theory is that there is life after death (for example) It is a theory because no one can deny that it's wrong, but it also cant be proven correct. :) hope this has helped you x

A scientific theory is a highly supported and very well tested explanation for an observed pattern of known scientific facts.

For example, the theory of gravity is used to explain the observable pattern of unsuspended objects falling towards the Earth.

There isn't any such thing as a scientific FACT. All statements in science are expressed as theories. Some contain more information than others.

In the scientific method, a researcher first puts forward a hypothesis. This is their idea of what might be happening to cause some observation. They then test this idea with some sort of experiment or demonstration that is then published. The hypothesis is then tested independently by some other scientist. If this test verifies the hypothesis it becomes a theory.

If there is one single observation that serves as a counter example, the theory is disproved and abandoned.

Does scientific theory have more chemistry and physics than scientific law?

A scientific theory is a theory, no given proof of being a fact, a scientific law is what always happens, essentially a fact. Both is in chemistry and physics. The theory of gravitation happens before it became the Law of gravitation. Scientific theories and laws are similar except laws were proven to be recognize as a fact.

What is the difference in theory and scientific law?

A scientific law is an indisputable fact: there are no observances dictating it. For example, gravity is a scientific law. A scientific theory is simply a generally accepted explanation for a particular phenomenon or idea that cannot currently be proven or disproven. The structure of the atom and evolution are theories.

Do you believe in darwinian theory as a scientific bsasis?

The Darwinian theory is based on Scientific methodology. This is a fact not an issue for belief.

How is the idea of evolution a threat to scientific progress?

The idea of evolution is that evolution is a fact and the theory of evolution by natural selection explains much about the fact of evolution. Your question is ill posed. A more modern phrase would say your question is malformed. How could the fact of evolution be a threat to anything? How could the theory that is the backbone of biology not be one of the greatest progressions in science? Much confusion between fact and theory. Theory explains fact and encompasses fact and is a higher scientific concept than fact.

The difference between a scientific theory and a law?

The hypothesis that stands the test of time forms a theory. This theory keeps on suggesting new hypotheses and many scientists exert greater efforts to disprove it but if it survives this doubtful approach,it becomes a law.A law is a uniform or constant fact of nature. It is an irrifutable theory.

How would you distinguish a scientific theory from a scientific law-?

A scientific theory is accepted as factual even though it hasn't been proven. A scientific law has been proven as fact.
