∙ 12y agoA surgical ward is one that houses patients waiting for surgery, or post-surgery. A medical ward consists of those patients looked after by physicians, e.g. cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, etc.
However sometimes a medical patient will be placed in a surgical ward (and vice versa), due to overcrowding of certain specialities in their respective wards.
