Difference between active sensor and passive sensor

Answer:

Active transducers generate electric current or voltage directly in response to environmental stimulation. Examples of active transducers are thermocouples and piezoelectric accelerometers. Thermocouples produce a voltage related to a temperature of two metals and if the two junctions are at different temperatures, electricity is generated.

Passive transducers produce a change in some passive electrical quantity, such as capacitance, resistance, or inductance, as a result of stimulation. These usually require additional electrical energy for excitation. A simple example of a passive transducer is a device containing a length of wire and a moving contact touching the wire. The position of the contact determines the effective length of the wire, varying the resistance of the length of wire. Other examples of passive transducers are strain gauges, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and thermistors

The major difference between passive surveillance and active surveillance is that passive surveillance relies on pre-existing data or data that is usually reported by public health officers or health care providers to health departments while active surveillance involves proactively collecting data from patients or participants from the general population.

What is the main difference between active trasport and passive transport?

Active transport requires energy (ATP, GTP, etc) to work against the electrochemical gradient. Passive transport works with the electrochemical gradient and does not require energy. (Think diffusion)

What id the difference between active and passive transport?

Active transport requires ATP and passive transport does not. Active transport goes against the concentration gradient and passive transport goes with the concentration gradient and includes osmosis, diffusion and facilitated diffusion.

How are active transport and passive transport different from each other?

The most basic difference between active and passive transport is that active requires energy while passive does not. You would require active transport if the substance is going against the concentration of molecules inside and outside of the membrane or if the substance is particularly large. Passive is more for smaller molecules that go with the concentration of the molecules inside and outside of the membrane.

What is the difference between active and passive cellular transport?

Active transport requires energy; passive transport does not.

What is a difference between passive and active agglutination?

The only difference between the two is with active agglutination you have a particulate Ag + Ab, since the Ag is particulate, large, when a complex is formed it is visable. In passive agglutination the Ag is soluble so it must first be attached to something like latex beeds or a carrier so when agglutination occurs it can be seen with the naked eye.

In short, observation is noticing or perceiving of an act, instance or detail. This is a passive action. While Surveillance is keeping watch over someone or something and is an active measure.

The difference between a passive and an active dividend policy.?

The difference between a passive and an active dividend policy lies in the amount of time between dividend disbursement. In a passive dividend policy, dividends are given when the company decides it is time. With an active dividend policy, dividends are disbursed at regular intervals.

What is the defference between active transpors and passive transport?

The difference between active and passive transport, is that, active transport, requires energy input from the cell, in order to occur, unlike passive, which occurs, without any energy input.

Difference between active and passive optical component?

Fiber optic couplers can be either active or passive devices. The difference between active and passive couplers is that a passive coupler redistributes the optical signal without optical-to-electrical conversion. Active couplers are electronic devices that split or combine the signal electrically and use fiber optic detectors and sources for input and output.

What is the difference between active and passive resistance?

The difference between active and passive resistance is that active resistance is violent while passive resistanceis non-violent, like a group of people staging a sit-in until their demands are met and refusing to co-operate with the police or some other government organization.

8 What is the difference between active and passive voice?

In the active voice the subject of the sentence is the 'doer' of the action of the verb. In the passive voice the subject of the sentence is the 'recipient' of the action of the verb. 'The girl drank the lemonade' (active). 'The lemonade was drunk by the girl' (passive).
