Hay is grass that is cut, dried and stored by humans to be used at a later date when grass is no longer growing. Grass is a plant which has a root system and leaves to sequester energy from the sun and is one that grows everywhere, including the lawn in front of your house. It is the main plant that is grazed by herbivores like cattle, sheep, deer, bison, horses, etc.
