The focus of an earthquake is the place where an earthquake occurred along the fault underground, while the epicenter is the place directly above it where the seismic waves were felt.

The focus is where an earthquake starts and the epicenter is where the earthquake hits the hardest.

The focus of the earthquake is where the actual earthquake occurred and the epicenter is on the ground directly above the focus. The epicenter is used to say where the earthquake was in relation to places near where it occurred.

the epicenter is above the focus and the focus is under the epicenter.

the epicenter is the spot on the surface aboce the focus. that is the origin on the earth quake

The difference between the Focus and the Epicenter is...... The Focus is pretty much where the earthquake starts but some people say it is the center of the earthquake. But moving on the Epicenter is right above the Focus but on the crust. I hope that answered your question!!

The focus is below ground that is where the earth quake happens. The epicenter is above because that is where it is located

I'm not sure but epicenter is above the focus and obviously, focus is right under the epicenter that should answer your question right?! i hope this helped to answer your curiosity. have a greatest day ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

The epicenter of an earthquake is the point on the ground surface above the focus, which is the heart of the earthquake itself.

An earthquakes epicenter is the point on the surface directly above the focus

An earthquake's focus is the point within the earth where the earthquake starts. The epicenter is the point on earth directly above the focus.

epicenter is the point on earths surface directly above an earthquakes starting point,or focus focus is the point along a fault at which the first motion of an earthquake occurs

The epicenter is the closest location on the surface to the focus and gets hit by a wave first

Shallow focus earthquakes occur at depths of 70 km with magnitudes ranging from 1-5. Deep focus earthquakes occur at depths from 300-700 km and magnitudes from 6-10.

the focus is below the epicenter. the epicenter is where the focus is but on the surface. the focus is below the surface, it ranges in the depth. they show you the epicenter on the news, not the focus.

where the fault is at or the epicenter which is not where the earthquake starts it is the focus where the earthquake starts

The focus is the area beneath Earth's surface where rock that is under stress breaks, triggering an earthquake. The epicentre/epicenter is the point on the surface directly above the focus. So basically the focus is underground while the epicenter is on the Earth's surface.

The Focus is the actual point of originn of an earthquake that is usually several miles below the surface. The epicenter is the point directly above the focus at the surface.

An earthquake's focus is the actual point of origin usually below the surface. The epicenter of an earthquake is the point directly above the focus on the surface.

The epicenter is where the waves first hit the surface, the 'focus' is the point where the waves come from initially.

the epicenter is directly above the focus

The activity under the earthquake is the focus (hypocenter) and is located under the crust. The epicenter is located above ground, directly over the focus.

No, but they are in the same area. The focus is actually the starting point BELOW the ground, while the epicenter is ABOVE the ground. But other than that there is not much difference.

Nothing, the epicenter is dirrectly above the focus. Nothing, the epicenter is dirrectly above the focus.

the focus is located under the epicenter. It is the origin of the earthquake. The epicenter is right above the focus.
