The suffix "M" stands for special design electro. That is the difference...
If the letter "M" was used as a prefix it would indicate for Marine use such as a boat engine....

0.035 inches for CR43TS or R43TS AC Delco spark plugs
check with your parts house to get the gap for your particular application.
.045 " is the correct gap.
what is the difference between dual and single pin spark plugs
you will need some ratchet swivels or wobbles but more importantly some short (1/2" - 1&1/2") extension if you can get them. doesn't look like you can over insert them, plugs pulled out were ACDelco CR43TSM, I replaced them with CR43TS, noproblem, did not look like they could be over inserted. Haynes manual lists gap for plug as .035" you will need to gap plugs before installing if using the acdelco cr43ts plugs hints: A small mirror be helpful to get a good view of the plug holes as you stand at your front bumper and face the engine, the upper right of the six plugs will be very hard to reach because of the steer column; to make this easy get a second person and have one stand in front of the car to guide the fitting, and have the other person crouch by the front driver side wheel well and reach the plug with the ratchet fitting/extension (6" or so)
The CR plugs are commercial grade and have a thicker electrode and ground. It's also a slightly hotter plug than the R. Basically a heavy duty plug used much in GM small block TBI trucks and other GM vehicles. I think they used them in some Corvettes as well.
The Packaging. Autolite MAKES Motorcraft
You may have the plugs wires installed incorrectly. You also may have the plugs gapped wrong. Here is the correct wiring order. Copy & paste into your browser. http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-8938.htm also after market spark plugs are NOT the same as factory spark plugs. always go with the brand that the factory installed for the best street performance and to avoid unwanted headaches, for instance my truck came with ac delco cr43ts , i installed autolite 25 that was given by the parts store. the truck absolutely refused to run right from the moment i started it after installing the new plugs. it was missing on nearly every cylinder. i returned the plugs and got the factory cr43ts plug, installed them, purred like a kitten. THE POINT IS , ITS NOT ALWAYS YOUR FAULT.
